Turbo Service Tips to Enhance Your Vehicles Performance

·         Don’t miss out on your vehicles regular service schedules. Leaving the turbo unattended for long due to lack of service is bound to reduce its performance.

·         Always service your vehicle at reputed service centers and under the guidance of professional mechanics.

·         Replace oil and lubricants with every servicing. Add coolants.

·         Replace the oil filter occasionally, ideally after every 10,000 miles.

·         Keep a check on the oil levels during turbo service so that all the moving parts in the turbo function well.

·    Use high-grade branded oil for enhanced performance. Low-grade oils can do more damage to your turbo, which may be irreparable later.

·         When you start your car, it takes about 5-10 seconds for the oil to reach the turbo, so it is best if you wait a while before you speed off after starting your car to prevent unnecessary wear and tear of the turbo.

·         You can avoid frequent turbo service if you drive cautiously. Avoid speeding, especially avoid speeding the moment you start your car. Do not accelerate immediately. You should at least avoid speeding till your car has driven a few miles and warmed up.

·         Avoid switching of ignition immediately after your car comes to a halt after a long run, give your turbine time to slow down. Leave your vehicle idle for a few seconds before turning off the engine. Let it slow down completely, then turn it off.

·         Always inspect the hoses, clamps, and tubes attached to the turbo charger, look for leaks and residues, which may cause extensive wear and tear to your vehicle’s turbo.

·         Change the diesel lube oil at regular intervals
